Dear Parent/Guardian:
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) requires all students who are enrolled for credit in any of the courses listed below to take the Georgia End of Course (EOC) upon course completion. The following courses in Georgia have EOCs:
- American Literature
- Biology
- U.S. History
- Algebra 1
Our Winter EOC testing window begins November 30th and closes on December 6th. Students need to be at school on time each day of testing.
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) has posted to its website Georgia Milestones Resources. This page will provide Study/Resource Guides and other resources. The link can be found on the THCS website under Academics. For a student to receive credit for an End-of-Course, the average of the coursework and the EOC score must equal or exceed 70. (See Georgia SBOE rule 160-4-2-.13.)
We are also writing to share with you information about online test administration this winter. For a number of years, the GaDOE has been offering online test administrations as part of the state’s student assessment program.
Toombs County High School will be testing students online during our upcoming administration of the Georgia Milestones assessment. The information below is provided to assist you and your student in becoming familiar with the features of online testing.
A website, called Experience Online Testing Georgia, has been established to provide an opportunity for students to become familiar with the online testing platform. The website can be found at the link that follows: http://www.gaexperienceonline.com/.
If you have questions about our upcoming test administrations for Georgia Milestones, please contact Michelle Branham at [email protected]
