The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 12th to all 10th grade students beginning first thing in the morning. The PSAT is the first standardized test that most students take as they begin their #collegeadmissions process and it can provide valuable feedback to students prior to them taking the SAT. Effective July 1, 2021, children 16 years of age and older, who are entering the 11th grade (including new entrants), must have received one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.

The Junior Class Ring Ceremony will be Monday, August 29th at 6:00 p.m. in the TCHS Auditorium. If you have a remaining balance left to pay on your class ring you can contact Herff Jones at (912) 764-9314, [email protected] or www.hjorder.com.

Picture day for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students at TCHS is Thursday, August 25th! We will also take volleyball, softball, and cross country pictures.

SENIORS! Here are a few reminders about senior pictures. Remember, you have options for how you have your senior pictures taken but it is your responsibility to get it done! Don’t miss out, get your pictures taken! We will put one formal and one casual of every senior in the yearbook. You have two options: Option one, School Photographer: Pix Photography in Vidalia is our school photographer. If you would like to have your pictures taken by Pix in their studio you can call them and schedule an appointment this summer. Scheduling with the studio will allow you more time with the photographer and more background options. Using Pix will also allow you more time to turn your pictures in for the yearbook. If you do not want to go to the studio, Pix will take pictures AT SCHOOL on September 22nd. However, your options and your time with the photographer may be limited as we will have many students having pictures taken that day. If you only need formals (tux or drape) you can have them taken on the 22nd. If you would like to schedule an appointment at the Pix studio, please call 538-0170 as soon as possible. Option two, Local Photographer: This is any photographer other than the Pix Photography. For example: Hart’s, Davis House, Lillian Morse, a friend, a cousin, etc. If you choose to have your senior pictures taken with a photographer other than our school photographer (Pix), you MUST have your pictures turned in by Friday September 9th. It is your responsibility to make sure your photographer emails or shares the photos you want used in the yearbook. I cannot accept any pictures from local photographers after September 9th! The 2022-2023 dates for the SAT and ACT has been posted on each of their websites. Click on the link below to go to the TCHS Counseling website to download a PDF of the combined dates. Students that qualify for a fee waiver to cover the cost of the exam need to fill out the appropriate form. The SAT and ACT fee waiver request forms are also located at the link below. If you are not sure if you qualify you can click on the form to see how to qualify. Once the form is completed the fee information will be sent to the student's email account. When should you take the SAT? We recommend you take the SAT, ACT or both during your junior year. Yearbooks, Report Cards and Graduation Pictures can be picked up at Toombs County High School on Tuesday, May 24th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. You can stay with Mrs. Brodnax and sign yearbooks during this time. Extra yearbooks are available for purchase for $50.00.
