Toombs County High School is committed to protecting instructional time and providing an environment where every student can focus, learn, and succeed. In compliance with Georgia HB 1009, beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, students in grades 9–12 will be required to keep all personal electronic devices: ✅ Powered off ✅ Stored securely in a book bag ✅ Out of sight ✅ Put away from the time the student arrives on campus until the student leaves after dismissal This expectation includes cell phones, smart watches, earbuds and headphones, tablets/iPads, smart glasses, and any personal electronic device capable of communication, internet access, web browsing, or data transmission. Devices must also remain powered off and stored while students are riding school buses. Please review the attached graphic carefully for complete expectations, disciplinary consequences, and emergency communication procedures. Class of 2027! It's time to claim your parking place for the year! Here's what you need to do... Step 1: You’ll need to buy a parking permit ($20) and pay to paint ($10) before you can claim a parking spot and start painting. GoFan link is open to go ahead and pay or you can bring cash or check made out to TCHS on Friday, July 31 to Mrs. Christian when you arrive to paint.  GoFan Link: https://gofan.co/event/6752333?schoolId=GA11901  Step 2: Auto Registration Form needs to be turned in before you receive your parking permit. You can pick this form up from the TCHS Front Office between the hours of 8:30am and 3pm Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30. You will bring the completed form back to Mrs. Christian along with your driver's license number and the information for your insurance policy when you show up to paint your spot. You will be given your parking permit at this time. You MUST have purchased a permit, paid to paint, and have this form turned in to be able to participate.  Step 3: Your design must be approved.  Show Mrs. Christian the design when you arrive. Designs must be appropriate for school, nothing distasteful or inflammatory, please. Step 3: Time to paint.... Once you have your permit and approval from Mrs. Christian, you are ready to paint.  Due to the numerous activities during pre-planning and the need to use the parking lot, there are specific times when painting is permitted.  You can paint from 1pm to 8 PM on Friday, July 31, 8am-8pm on Saturday, August 1, and times will be announced soon for Monday, August 3. These are the ONLY times when painting is allowed. If you are unable to paint during these times, please let Mrs. Christian know. If it rains, we will reschedule. You pick your spot. They are first-come, first-served.   Pro tips:   -It will take a whole gallon of paint to cover an entire spot.  If you choose a spot that has been painted before it will take less paint.  -House paint and spray paint work best.  "Craft" paint is okay, but it takes a large amount of paint to get good coverage and it won't last all year.  -Painting takes time. Last year most students spent 3-4 hours painting and some designs took all day to paint. Depending on the design, you may need to spread out your painting time to allow the paint to dry. -Stencils and tape can be very helpful! -If you paint during the day, you may want to set up a tent to work under.
