Toombs County High School is committed to protecting instructional time and providing an environment where every student can focus, learn, and succeed.
In compliance with Georgia HB 1009, beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, students in grades 9–12 will be required to keep all personal electronic devices:
✅ Powered off
✅ Stored securely in a book bag
✅ Out of sight
✅ Put away from the time the student arrives on campus until the student leaves after dismissal
This expectation includes cell phones, smart watches, earbuds and headphones, tablets/iPads, smart glasses, and any personal electronic device capable of communication, internet access, web browsing, or data transmission. Devices must also remain powered off and stored while students are riding school buses.
Please review the attached graphic carefully for complete expectations, disciplinary consequences, and emergency communication procedures.

Today, TCHS Student Council took a trip to visit UGA in Athens to attend the 14th annual Leadership Summit Conference! After, we got a tour of the campus by our very own Jean Peterson and Sarah Ellis Walker! A very fun filled day with lots of helpful information that will make our council better!

Work-Based Learning Student of the Week
Noah Gordy, a junior, is recognized as this week’s WBL Student of the Week. Noah works at Gordy Tire and Brake in Lyons, a family-owned business. He is gaining valuable hands-on experience and developing important automotive and workplace skills.
Noah is enrolled in the Automotive III class at SECCA and is putting the critical skills he has learned in the class to use. He is also learning what it takes to be a dependable employee while building real-world skills that will serve him well in his future career. We are proud of his hard work, willingness to learn, and commitment to doing his job well!

Lyons Main Street is excited to invite K–12 students to participate in the 2026 Pig Tales: This Little Piggy Wrote a Story Writing Competition - held in conjunction with The Real Squeal BBQ & Music Festival.
Contest Rules
● The PIG TALES Writing Competition is open to all students in grades
K-12 attending any public, private or home school in surrounding
Counties .
● Students are limited to one entry.
● Entries may be written for the purpose of this competition, or as part
of a school assignment.
● Entries must be written in English.
