The senior parent informational meeting is tonight, Thursday, October 1st at 6:00 p.m. in the TCHS auditorium. Students and parents are invited to attend.

Toombs County High School is celebrating a historic achievement as the Class of 2026 posted a 96.4% four-year cohort graduation rate, the highest in school history.
“Achieving a 96.4% four-year cohort graduation rate, the highest in Toombs County High School history, is an accomplishment our entire Bulldog family can celebrate,” TCHS Principal Marissa Morris said. “It reflects students who persevered, families and a community who supported them, and educators across our school system who helped build the foundation for their success.”
Morris emphasized that the achievement reflects the collective work of educators throughout Toombs County Schools, along with the commitment of the TCHS faculty and staff to know their students, support their individual needs, maintain high expectations, and help each student reach graduation.
“Our TCHS faculty and staff carried that work forward by knowing our students, supporting their needs, holding them to high expectations, and doing whatever it takes to help them reach graduation,” Morris said. “For seven consecutive years, TCHS has maintained a graduation rate above 93%, and I could not be prouder of the Class of 2026. They have truly created their legacy.”

Our physics students put their knowledge to the test with a Catapult Lab. Students designed and built their own catapults and then tested their creations to determine how fast they could launch a projectile and how high the projectile could travel. Using principles of physics and projectile motion, students calculated the maximum height of their launches and determined where to place a target based on a specific height assigned by their teacher, Mrs. Garrett. This hands-on lab challenged students to apply physics concepts, problem-solve, calculate, and put their designs to the test—all while having a little fun along the way! 🎯📐🔬

Today, September 24, our schools will be conducting scheduled safety practice drills in partnership with local law enforcement and emergency responders. We want to reassure families that there is no threat to our students or staff. These drills are required by state law (HB 147). We perform these checks periodically to practice safety procedures and ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We appreciate the support of our families and community as we continue to make the safety and well-being of our students and staff a top priority.

The new US 1 Bypass in Lyons is scheduled to open the week of September 21st.
As our community adjusts to the new roadway and traffic patterns, Toombs County Schools asks everyone to use extra caution, especially at the intersection of the US 1 Bypass and Bulldog Road.
Please be alert for cross traffic, slow down, and allow extra time as drivers become familiar with the new intersection and traffic flow.
The safety of our students, staff, families, and community remains our top priority.

A senior parent informational meeting will be held on Thursday, October 1st at 6:00 p.m. in the TCHS auditorium. Students and parents are invited to attend.
