Cap and Gown pictures will be taken Wednesday, March 4th from 9:30–11:30 AM in the auditorium.

If you are on campus 2nd block, you will be called. If not, please plan to come during the designated time window.

Caps and gowns will be provided.
Pictures are optional, and payment is due on picture day.
There will not be a make-up day.

TCHS Fishing Team Earns Another Top 10 Finish at Lake Hartwell The TCHS Fishing Team was back in action at Lake Hartwell this past Saturday February 23, 2026. AJ Bagby, TCHS 11th grader, weighed in 16.08 pounds to secure a 10th place finish out of 130 fishing teams in the Georgia Bass Nation High School Fishing Tournament. The Lake Dawg again faced tough weather conditions with thunderstorms blowing through the morning of the tournament. It was a cloudy and rainy day followed by periods of high winds. Due to the thunderstorms, AJ decided to target shallow water spotted and largemouth bass. “A small population of bass were already starting to move up and stage for the upcoming spawn. But the thunderstorms pushed those fish even shallower at the beginning of the tournament. I caught the first fish of the day in 2 feet of water. When the rainwater is warmer than the lake water, the bass and the baitfish will push up very close to the bank to take advantage of the warmer rainwater running off into the lake”, said AJ Bagby. “I primarily rotated between fishing shallow spawning pockets with a neko rigged worm and deep timber with a jighead minnow. The bass were spread out and very hard to locate. I caught a 4.11 pound spotted bass in 3 feet of water on a sand-to-gravel transition bank in spawning pocket. Then, I caught a 3.47 pound spotted bass in 55 feet of water in the timber. I had to bounce around a lot to find the fish as they are in transition from their deep wintering spots and moving to the spawning flats and pockets”, said AJ Bagby. The Top 10 Lake Hartwell finish has moved AJ and Lane Bagby up into 6th place for Angler of the Year points in the GA Bass Nation High School division out of 168 high school teams. The Lake Dawgs want to give a special shoutout to some of our key sponsors. Congratulations to the Toombs County High School Orchestra for their outstanding performance at the Georgia Music Educator’s Association Large Group Performance Evaluation in Savannah, Ga! 🎶👏The Orchestra performed on Tuesday at the event for the FIRST TIME EVER alongside other orchestras from District 1 such as the Savannah Arts Academy and Richmond Hill High School. Bravo to these outstanding student musicians 🎻!

Arianna Hill, Senior, is our WBL student of the week. Arianna just started working at City Drug Store in Vidalia and is pictured on her first day at her new job. Arianna states that she believes that she will enjoy working at City Drugs and is very appreciative of them scheduling her around her basketball schedule. She has had an exciting and excellent basketball career and is one of the team's key players. While working she will gain soft skills that she will use in her future career. TCHS would like to thank City Drug Store and all other business partners for their support of the WBL program.

Toombs County High School students participated in the Future Ready Conference at the Liberty County Performing Arts Center, benefiting from sessions on self-advocacy, workforce readiness, and post-secondary options.  The students gained valuable knowledge and practical strategies that will support their future planning. The conference was made possible through the partnership of First District RESA, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, and Georgia High School High Tech. Toombs County Students Named District Winners in Young Georgia Authors Contest

The Toombs County School District has announced its FY26 Young Georgia Authors (YGA) District Level Winners, recognizing outstanding student writing across all grade levels.

Students from Toombs Central Elementary School, Lyons Upper Elementary School, Toombs County Middle School, and Toombs County High School were selected as district winners for their exceptional original works. Entries will now advance to the First District RESA (FDRESA) for the next round of judging.

The Young Georgia Authors contest encourages students to develop and celebrate their writing talents through poetry, short stories, essays, and other literary works.

Work-Based Learning Student of the Week

Makenna Gardisser, Junior, is our WBL student of the week. Makenna works at God’s Willing Boutique in Lyons, GA. She is shown with some of the new inventory that she just put out at the boutique. Makenna states that she loves working at God's Willing Boutique and she is gaining skills that she will use in her future career. TCHS would like to thank God's Willing Boutique and all other business partners for their support of the WBL program.

Save the date on February 24th. Students will be able to order letter jackets and 10th graders may order their class rings.

Work-Based Learning Student of the Week

Emma Durrence, Junior, is our WBL student of the week. Emma is employed at G Marie's in Lyons and uses the information she is learning in her business pathway at her workplace. She is posing with one of G Marie's mannequins that is going to be used in the store display. Every week the store has a color scheme and the window is changed in correlation to that theme. Toombs County High School would like to thank G Marie's and all other business partners for their support of the Work-Based Learning program.
